Energy Efficiency

Save 50% or more on your home energy bills

Sea Hawk Homes builds with the best insulating system on the market, sprayfoam insulation from the experts at BASF. This system provides 50% + better thermal performance compared to standard wall construction and surpasses the requirements of the national building code and existing residential energy standards. The sprayfoam insulating air barrier system goes beyond code compliance. This insulating air barrier system boasts superior R value, thermal performance and eliminates uncontrolled air leakage.

CCMC and NAHB showed that spray foam insulation increased the structural strength of the wall members, two to three times in rack and shear tests, providing supreme structural strength and durability for years to come. Sea Hawk Homes High Performance homes achieve  R-42+ wall insulation and R-50+ ceiling insulation, include Energy Star windows and doors and are designed to maximize the performance of your HVAC system.

SEA HAWK HOMES ENERGY EFFICIENT FEATURES COMBINED WITH CLOSED CELL SPRAY FOAM INSULATION PROVIDE

  1. Better indoor air quality.
  2. Stops air and moisture infiltration.
  3. Prevents the growth of mold and fungi.
  4. Creates an airtight building envelope that prevents the infiltration of pollutants, toxins and allergens from outside the home.
  5. Provides a healthier, draft-free, indoor environment with absolutely no harmful emissions that can cause allergic reactions.
  6. Makes your home more comfortable to live in.
  7. Saves 50% or more on the homes energy bills.
  8. Adds strength to the building structure.
  9. Better sound proofing vs other insulations

ENERGY EFFICIENCY

SURPASSING ALL EXISTING STANDARDS

Sea Hawk Homes offers  2lb. closed cell spray foam insulation, the highest R-value as compared to all other available insulations.

"It was very clear that spray foam insulation is the best possible insulation on the market – no question," says Mike Holmes. "Spray foam covers everything so there is no potential for cold spots, gaps, voids or settling... Consider the long-term savings in energy efficiency and longevity."

REDUCED AIR LEAKAGE PROVIDES FOR BIG COST SAVINGS AND IMPROVES INDOOR AIR QUALITY

  • Building regulations recognize the impact that reducing air leakage has on thermal performance, occupant comfort, reduction of energy costs and how long the building will last

  • No other insulating system provides better performance against leakage through the building envelope than does expanding closed cell spray foam insulation

  • The thermal performance of expanding closed cell spray foam insulation is not compromised by air moving through and around it, as are other insulation types like fiberglass and cellulose

  • Conventional insulation such as fiberglass and cellulose sag or lose R-value over time, some faster than others especially if incorrectly installed.

  • Damaged or poorly installed exterior weather membrane have many perforations, allowing for increased air infiltration through the exterior wall, thus reducing the thermal performance of conventional walls.

  • This leads to increased energy costs and a greater strain on resources.
